A FRC team is usually built in early fall at the beginning of a school year, where new and old members build sub teams, learn, develop their skills, and get to know each other. The mark of "build season" for each year's competitions is Kickoff in early January, where teams learn what the theme and game is. Build season lasts for six weeks, where teams craft their robot, strategies, and collaboration skills. Competitions take place in March and April, where teams finally put their robots to the test!
